Catalogue Raisonne Support

We provide historical factual data gathered on Artists to Artists Estates, promoting the opportunity to update past catalogue Raisonne's with the research we have discovered.

We are a unique research firm that gathers factual evidence from the oldest to most present records, analysing the data we recover with that of the current known art historical record, often with highly enlightening results and finds.

We also offer to fund, produce or reproduce updated areas of Catalogue Raisonne's in partnership with Artist Estates, promoting the authority and expertise of the authentication bodies that protect the legacy of Artists well into the future.

Current Project News

Our Library, Archive & Art Market Index Databank is being used to produce the first thoroughly 'record checked' catalogue of Georges Braque Fauve period paintings. Our key findings so far are:

  • A total of 113 paintings that appear to have been executed between 1904-1907 have been assessed.
  • There are 27 paintings that are distinctive but are currently without image verification.
  • There are 35 paintings that are currently owned by Museums.
  • The 29 paintings that were identified in Isalov's catalogue Raisonne of 1932 have been recognised in the data.
  • At least 1 painting is of dubious Authenticity.
  • At least 1 painting has potential restitution issues.
  • We are currently contacting the owners of these paintings to provide them with the 'primary source evidence' documentation we have been able to recover on their paintings. This verification documentation greatly supports the provenance history of these artworks.
